NOK, as you may be aware, manufactures automotive components as well as products for many other industrial applications, such as construction machines, office automation systems, and electronic circuit boards. Being proud as a versatile manufacturer, we kicked off a development project, hoping to enter the life science industry, which has great potential.
A major product line of NOK is oil seals. We already had vast accumulated know-how in the field. However, we were not experienced in the production of a product used to seal analytical reagent solution. We spent great efforts before determining the specifications. Spending a long period of time, conducting interviews at industrial exhibitions and market surveys, we determined an appropriate blend of materials.
The Pipette Packing was developed from an idea of enabling direct feed from the pipette tip to the microfluidic device. Conventionally, feed from the pipette tip to a microfluidic device required the installation of a tube connector.
If it is possible to directly feed the fluid, the effort of connecting the tube connector would not be necessary, and the spent amounts of reagents or analytes can be reduced. Recently, it is commonly known that reducing the spent amounts of reagents and analytes is reducing waste fluid, namely, reducing environmental burden. Many efforts are being made in this respect. We hope that the Pipette Packing will help reduce environmental burden.
After suctioning the solution to be fed, install this product to the pipette tip. Feed the solution, pressing this product against the microfluidic channel feed port at right angles.
